Hospitalitybar

supper club

king street hotel : the supper club, newcastle 2007

design and refurbishment of whole bar interiors, level three

Opened exclusively Saturday evenings and for private functions, the client described the desired space as "new-world-modernism-meets British-Raj." The end result is a smart, sophisticated venue catering for the Newcastle demographic, with worn finishes used to compliment the existing 1930's architecture. The look is richly decorated with a blend of antique and modern furniture. The custom designed bar and backlit stained glass feature window, along with salvaged church pews as balustrades, evokes the last supper. An 1800's piano has been transformed into a DJ booth. The feel is now both comfortable and sophisticated.
